Using Logitech Momo Force Feed Back Wheel?

Postby fightling » Wed May 23, 2012 12:25 pm

Is it possible to use a force feedback wheel for control?

Yes, but no force feedback.

I'm using a Logitech Driving Force GT, but it'll be the same for a Momo user too.

Whilst Haruna is correct, I'll add a little more info. You can use the 'center spring' function to add some resistance to the wheel (on Linux this is done with 'ffset -a 30 -d /dev/input/eventX').

We'd really like to include force feeback (it's required to make SD 'the' racing game), however we're stuck with the choice of libraries. Currently we use a mix of plib and sdl1.2 to do joystick functions and these do not support force feedback. If sdl1.3 were ever release then we could use that...

If you have any suggestions or want to help work on it, there's a bug report for collecting information:

Cheers,

OK I am using a Driving Force Wheel also, but it will not calibrate. I have all other controllers unhooked and still nothing. It sets the controls on the first page, but won't calibrate or doesn't react until I move the shifter. I still have no functions when I go to race. This includes throttle, brake, and steering. Not sure what I am missing would really like to play.
