Restrictive racing options in new Menus

Postby deepesh » Tue Jun 12, 2012 8:35 pm

Hi,
I run Speed Dreams on Ubuntu and upgraded to Speed Dreams 2.0 about a month ago. I like the new tracks and cars and improved physics but there are few things I miss from earlier version.
1) Skip qualifying
2) Set number of laps
3) Quickly start last race

Is there a way to do these? I can edit xml files if that's what it takes.

Thanks,
Deepesh

There was a derp in the distribution of the 2.0 Ubuntu PPA that causes Quick Race and Practice modes to be missing upon installation.
For other game types the dev team has actually decreased restrictions in some spots: you can select length of practice/qualifying/race sessions in Championship, as an example (although sadly not skippable).

I'm actually wondering myself why a patch for the PPA hasn't been released yet, in fact...

Apparently there are missing files, a long thread here discusses the problem....

In summary it appears that these files are missing.

I've attached a copy of 'verison.xml' (gzip'ed) - might work for you.

Hi.

I've tried the attached version.xml file, but unfortunately it didn't help.

Hi guys!!!

I've noticed that the menu "championship" don't let you select the races you want to implement (eg, Formula One tracks), but "forced" to follow the predetermined sequence ... How can we do? Generating a new XML file, which indicate the tracks that you want to play??? I think it's a detail to check for future updates ...
