There is an ac3d exporter for Sketchup, but it’s more complicated than just exporting a model from SU. Be aware of triangle count (poly count); the thing that is great about Sketchup is also a downside, it’s easy to model with, but it’s also easy to create a sloppy, hight poly model with it, so care must be taken when creating a model. There is also UV mapping that must be done and Sketchup doesn’t natively support UV mapping. Furthermore it’s a bad idea to download models from the 3D Warehouse and use them without permission.
So, with all that said, it can be done, but be prepared to put some work into it. I’m still learning all this myself.
Here’s some tools that might help:
(not free)
And here's a link to some models I've made -- I grant permission to use them in Speed Dreams, but they are not really vehicles anyone would race.
