BUMP!

Don't think this has been seen before.... so not sure what to suggest. There's obviously an issue with the 3D/OpenGL stuff and some things are drawn (ie. speedo needles).

Q. Are the menus and help screen ('F1' in game) drawn OK?

Q. Are you able to log in to your machine with a minimal X setup (ie. without KDE/etc running)? Does this help?

Q. Did you build from source, or install a binary package?

If you have the source on disk, you could try running another distro from a live CD and recompiling source under that, which might help figure out whether it's a distro problem.

Reinstalled, but the problem persists... Menus, F1 etc. all work. Torcs, vdrift etc. all work.

Another user (??) reported a similar problem with Arch on the mailing list, their solution was to turn of 'Texture Compression' in the 'OpenGL' option menu.
