Problems compiling in FreeBSD

Postby ktmpete » Sat Oct 29, 2011 4:39 am

I have been attempting to compile both 1.4 & 2.0b1 in PCBSD (FreeBSD8.2).

In 1.4, I get an error message when attempting to create the makefile.
./configue
=>
~
checking for X... libraries /usr/X11R6/lib, headers /usr/X11R6/include
checking GL/gl.h usability... no
checking GL/gl.h presence... no
checking for GL/gl.h... no
configure: error: Can't find GL/gl.h. Look for Mesa devel packages for your distro.

The header files exist, and the gl.h is in /usr/X11R6/include/GL. All prerequisites are installed via the ports with make install to include the source files.

Looked through the configure.in file, but nothing stood out.

In 2.0: error message is:
/usr/local/src/speed-dreams-2.0.0-b1-r3937-src# cmake . {used ccmake . previously & set up the parameters]

Tried file as a symlink to /usr/local/lib/torcs/lib/libxml.so, still same error.

Any ideas?

Hi Peter,

though not aimed for BSD, but these post may shed some lights on install difficulties:

and
http://kiloandtorcs.blogspot.com/2009/0 ... buntu.html (this works for 1.4 for sure)

Added:
lgconfig_paths= "/usr/local/lib/torcs/lib" to rc.conf.local [Equivalent to LD_PATH]
running make in SD2 can't find it.

###> ldd /usr/local/lib/torcs/torcs-bin for missing libraries. All show up.

Would a libtxml file have different formats or be corrupted from another program?

Onward, if not upward.
