OK, this model still has some issues I’m not happy with, but I’m sick and tired of working on it, so here it is. It’s fun to drive at least!

Most people throw rocks at me when I admit it, but I make them in Sketchup, UV map them in LithUnwrap and or UV Mapper Classic, then all my final optimizations are done in AC3D. My textures are done in Kerkythea and Gimp.

By the way, Macedex, you've done some nice models too. I checked out your site a couple of weeks ago.

I’ve updated both of the above models with new wheel textures (they are not so wobbly now) and new preview pics too.

Info: Inspired by Buck Baker’s 1957 Chevy Black Widow. This car was fuel injected early in the ’57 racing season, but NASCAR outlawed fuel injection, so it was fitted with a carburetor and thus the horse power decreased. This is the early fuel injected version.

These cars are great.

By the way, if you are going to continue with the 1957 NASCAR theme, I'd suggest that you should do either the '57 Pontiac that Cotton Owens won at Daytona Beach in, the '57 Chev that Speedy Thompson drove to win the Southern 500 in, or Lee Petty's '57 Oldsmobile. Or perhaps either Fireball Roberts or Marvin Panch's '57 Ford.

Thanks, I'm almost finished with Owens' Pontiac and about 1/2 finished with a '57 Ford that I planned for Fireball Roberts. I've collected reference photos for Petty's '57 Olds, but haven't started it yet.

After that I plan on doing a Tatra 603, Lotus Cortina, and probably a Mini.

Thanks, the triangle count is 4660 on the Mercury, 4983 on the Bel Air, 4679 on the Black Widow, and 6005 on the Pontiac
