Tutorial on adding Custom Cars???

Hi All

First let me congratulate you all on a job well done, this is a great simulator! I am interested in using your open source simulator as a test platform for a new vehicle, currently in development. Of course a project like this will generate a lot of questions, the first of which is the following.

Is there a tutorial available for adding new custom vehicles to Speed Dreams? We have several models of our vehicle build using 3D modeling softwae and we would like to know how to add them to the simulator. The formats we have available are listed below. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

obj
SolidWorks 3D Model
Rhino 3D Model
3Ds Maxx 3D Model

Hello,

i'm not a member of the dev team, but maybe this info can help:

Speed dreams uses acc - files which are generated from ac (ac3d) files via their accc - utility.
blender and ofcourse ac3d can write .ac-files (there may be other programs) -> blender needs a separate plugin installed.
afaik blender can read .obj files and both programs are capable of reading 3ds-files.

much of what is written in this tutorial http://torcs.sourceforge.net/index.php? ... e&artid=31
is also valid for importing cars into SD.

Here is some further info on creating the setup- file (xml) etc: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/speed-dreams/
(in the section "Artists Garage").

I don't know how to use ACCC. Whenever I click on it, the program doesn't open. I'm such a noob
