Hi tom here is your textured model. I think it worked this time, didn't look in details but it seams ok. I just want to ask you one thing for next time, please group your objects and put a prefix for me to know which texture I have to assign, because it was pretty long to sort all the objects of your model and find out which texture was used when you have no clue, especially when you have about 60 of them... It is easier for me if I have 5 or 6 objects with clear names and texture indication, I will also be less likely making mistakes. Anyway, nice job your vette looks cool :)

Have a nice day.

Hello all,

I've started work on the Camaro now, it's the 2010 Camaro SS. Will be focusing on getting this finished so it will probably be the next car posted on this thread. :D

Cool! I had considered making one of these myself, but just hadn't gotten around to it.

I'm making good progress with this one, really pleased how it's turning out :D
Front end almost finished, just need to add details like headlights.

Almost finished the camaro, hope to get it posted here in the next week or so. I'm nearly finished modelling, but how do you scale the model so it is the correct size for SD2? If I change the units to metres and set it as 4 in blender, it appears huge.

Thanks :D

Hello all,

I was wondering if I should create a muscle car category, because I have almost finished the Corvette ZR1 and the Camaro SS (will post these at the same time). Also, I might make more muscle cars in the future, maybe a Dodge Charger, and they're not really supercars, so should I make a new category??

Hi tom, nice work, I like your camaro, I just have one comment or rather suggestion for you to improve the look of these. You can use sharp edges and edge split modifier to have greater control over the smooth shading of your models.

I am not 100% sure but if I look at the bonnet of your camaro, I think it is all smoothed. You could make the edges around the engine cover (the big bulge in the middle of the bonnet) sharp (T key in edit mode and then UV tools tab, you have set edges vertices and faces sharp or smooth, this will mark them sharp) and apply an edge spilt modifier and uncheck angle option and use shrap edges instead.

I discovered this method recently and I must say it is much better than creating extra objects. The main advantage is that as it is a modifier you can keep your mesh in one part and edit it much more easily and faster. I like this way of modelling alot so I thought it might help you out as it did for me. I also discovered 3 days ago there is an "autosmooth" option in the object data tab (one of those buttons where you have render, materials, textures... it has a mesh triangle as icon) which shades smooth objects based upon the angle, it might help you out too, you could use this to make the grill completely sharp .

I just thought of these tools as the camaro is quite edgy and may require quite alot of control over the smoothing to make it look nice.

You are right, it might be better to separate the supercars category. Now I guess it was done so because there weren't so many cars and 1 categroy per car doesn't make things very interesting. I guess there is no match beetween a 350Z and an xj220. But the classification of cars is a pretty tough thing. I would raise only 1 condition: similar performance.

Having a muscle car category might be a cool add, I'd go for it, there's not much to loose anyway.

Have a nice day.
