Something I always wondered.

Postby Nic KERS » Wed Jan 23, 2013 10:47 pm

In another sim I've used recently, there are a couple of long road tracks. I've enjoyed driving them, but I do prefer circuits and I was wondering if such tracks could simply have their end 'stitched' to their beginning. Even hill climbs could be infinitely long that way.

Times would then have the advantage of a flying start on laps >1, of course.

Or does a 'simulator' have to be confined to real life possibilities?

You could do that.

I had an idea, where besides the normal track definitions, "stages" can defined by a starting section, ending section, and a direction of a given track. So on really long road and/or dirt courses, you could have the course divided up into more manageable sections. But that's not supported yet...
