About Restarting a Race process

When in a race we go to the menu and hit "Restart Race", the game reloads everything again. From my point of view it would be better and faster if it puts us back in the same position as at the beginning as in other games. I'm sure this has a logical or technical explanation, and if that's the case I'd like to know it, otherwise that's my suggestion.

If you are talking about going back to the start line, I think that it was just more convenient to reload the whole race rather than reset all the conditions. ie damage, fuel, etc.
