Hello,
i'd like to ask for multiplayer possibility. I'm simrcer, our league use rFactor, and i'd like to ask if SD2 knows multiplayer with server, or if it will be enabled sometimes later. Thanx for answer.

Yes (and No).

There is a split screen feature where what ever screen configuration you have can be split up to 4 ways with keys '(' and ')' (and re-arranged with key '_'). You can* define multiple human racers and add multiple humans to a race. So you can race against friends on the same PC.

The SVN build has a network play mode, unfortunately this needs more work so it is disabled in the 'official' builds. If you build from SVN you can enable it, and hopefully you'll be able hack this to make it work better...

* There is a bug in the RC1 which only allows one human to be selected for a race. We'll get this fixed before final release.

The RC _does_ let you race multiple humans in split screen, bug report (by me) was incorrect.

And if you're 'scared' of building from source, don't be. Once you have the correct packages (gcc, cmake, etc) install the build process is 'turn key'.

I got all the networking files I can found in the svn and now have a online category... when I click there it goes black... Is there any way we can LAN

There is currently a work in progress implementation of online/lan races but is in development and may be buggy.

To run a lan/network race you need:
- a recent Speed-Dreams build (current svn)
- compiled with enet library 1.3 or greater
- open 28500-28501 udp/tcp port on your firewall and router

Then on the online race menu one pc choose to host a race and the other to join a race and tiping the ip of the host into the input field.

On the topic of a new release, I'd just like to mention that the developers are a 'small band of heros' (6 or so active) and we all have real lives to contend with... we're always looking for help, suggestions and critism.

Whilst there is already some discussion on where SD will 'go' in the future, comments/suggestions are always welcome - raise a point here in the forum or over on our bug tracker:
