Wow, 24hrs at the computer.... that's endurance.

Good job we have '24hr mode' which compresses the day/night cycle into however long you want to race :D

rFactor has had driver swaps since 2005. This feature is pure awesome. No other PC racing game has it.

The winners still only had two drivers, 12 hours each is nuts.

Maybe the biggest nutter was Jimmy Broadbent, one of the commentators. He was up more than 24 hours handling the coverage. Perfect example of bad organization really.

*buzzer noises*

Live for Speed also has driver swaps. I don't remember the patch version they were introduced in but it was definitely there since at least 2007.

LOL "There's nothing new under the sun"

This post https://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=1397 indicates the feature was around in 2005 already, so ISI definitely got the idea from LFS. Or maybe even NR2003. That forum thread mentions NR2003 also had driver swaps but it was "difficult to use". Which makes me wonder why iRacing, which is based on the NR2003 code, is now struggling to bring driver swaps back. They do make the strangest design choices.

With the 24hrs on our minds here's "Audi - One Lap to Le Mans with Tom Kristensen"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DY8NGkRrlg#t=59

Feel like I might hit 'longday' this evening....

And if you hadn't heard, Loic Duval has 'totaled' Audi #1 during practice. No word on his condition, other than he's awake and talking when taken the medical center.
